Dog Obedience Classes with Spalding Parks and Rec Welcome to the Spalding County Community Dog Training classes. We offer a series of dog obedience courses for Spalding County and nearby residents.

Head Trainer is Kerri Gebler. January/February session is currently underway. Check back for updates on the next session. We offer group indoor/outdoor dog training classes at the Community Center at the Griffin City Park on Monday evenings. Beginner Obedience classes (8 week course):

Heel on lead (walk beside you without pulling)
Sit
Down
Stay
Come when called

Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test is

It would be easy to name several people right now who would swear, “She was *just fine,* and then *snapped all of a sudden.*”

And they would believe it. I watched a video they sent, and I saw plain as day a dog that was intent on biting the hand of the idiot who stuck their hand into the pen of a dog they didn’t know. 🙄🙄🙄🤦‍♀️💁 The dog warned several times with avoidance by moving as far away as possible, turning the head away, lip licking, freezing. And the idiot persisted. And people would blame the dog and say it was Trazadone that did it. Nope.

🎟️🐾🎉RAFFLE FUNDRAISER🎉🐾🎟️

We haven’t done a raffle in quite a while and now is the perfect time to do one again!

The “miscellaneous” expenses are killing us — the random foster dog medical issue (we seem to have a lot of those lately), the rechecks, the temp boarding for an out of town foster, the supplies, the boring overhead stuff (e.g. software, postal, office supplies, etc), so on and so forth.

This is on top of all the big or regular expenses— e.g. spay/neuters, vaccines, prevention, surgeries (another this week), heartworm treatment, etc.

Misc expenses don’t often make it to socials for fundraising because well, they’re usually smaller and random. When you have a plethora of constant smaller expenses though — they add up to a large chunk.

Please help us cover some of these expenses by grabbing raffle tickets!🐾
