Double-coated dogs like Sasha blow their coat twice a year, and fall is one of them. Here's how to stay on top of it:
Brush before the bath with a double-row deshedding rake. You can grab a two-pack from us and it pulls loose undercoat right out. Warm bath water helps release what's loosening up. Let the shampoo sit a few minutes before rinsing. Blow dry on low to push the rest out, then do one more brush-through.
Bonus tip: dog hair is full of nitrogen. Work it into your garden soil and your plants will thank you.

I love my furry clients, and years of grooming have taught me that a healthy pet is a happy pet.
A quick reminder about my vaccination policy: I require current vaccination records before grooming.
For dogs, that means rabies, DHPP, and bordetella. For cats, it means rabies and FVRCP. Please send proof from your veterinarian before your pet’s appointment.
Rabies vaccination is recommended by the South Dakota Department of Health, and my policy requires it for every pet I groom.
Just like daycare and boarding facilities, grooming involves pets sharing an environment. Requiring vaccinations helps reduce the spread of illness and keeps pets and people safer.
I appreciate your understanding and your help in making grooming a healthy, welcoming experience for everyone!

That’s why we’re introducing PawSafe Weather to take the guesswork out of your daily walks. Our latest Labs feature tells you whether the pavement is safe for paws, hour by hour.

How it works: Surface temperatures are modeled from sun, cloud and wind data (not just air temperature), then color-coded from lower risk to extreme danger. Think of it as a heat map for delicate paws.

The golden rule: When in doubt, always do the 7-second hand test. Press the back of your hand flat on the pavement for 7 seconds. If you can't hold it there comfortably, it's too hot for paws. Period.
