Southern Star Stables Self Care and Full Care Horse Boarding in business for 36 years. Experience in nutrition for senior, young, performance and pleasure horses.

A place for everyone to enjoy their horse and enjoy the cookouts. Sorry but we do not board stallions. Offering self care or full care services in pasture or stall boarding. We have 2 riding arenas, 100 x 80 and 200 x 100 with obstacles. Stalls are 12 x 12 with sliding doors and windows in each stall. Secured tack room for boarders. Owner lives on property and has been in business for over 30 year

s with experience in nutrition for the senior, young, performance or pleasure horse. Clinics on nutrition, hooves and working horses will be coming throughout the year. We do not board stallions.

Lying here wide awake at 3:30 am. Listening to tree branches crack and crash. Still have power right now but hearing tree branches crash and hoping they do not take down power lines.

With the incoming snow/ice storms on the way we are preparing slowly. We will be emptying water tubs and refilling full...

With the incoming snow/ice storms on the way we are preparing slowly. We will be emptying water tubs and refilling full with salt bottles to help with openings for horses to drink water. Propane tanks filled for the flame burning to keep the electrical lines free of ice so they are not weighted down and break. I will be moving the instahot washer inside the barn for warm water in the barn for hot mashes. Working on getting supports made for the outside shelter logic tops so they do not collapse under the wet heavy snow and ice. All outside faucets will be double insulated and wrapped.

Make sure your horses have on their blankets outside to help protect them from the snow and ice coming. I am working on getting hay in the shelter the night before the storms arrive.

Also if you volunteer to help I know we do not ask for help but I know our Barn workers and I would appreciate any help you can offer.

Remember while you will be inside warm I will be outside working in this bad weather and on top of that sick UGH. So please be considerate to all of the barn workers at all barns. They work hard so you can have a place for your horse to be.

Stay warm, safe and remember your pets outside also.
