The Australian cattle dog also known as “the Heeler” originally developed in Australia with the main purpose of herding cattle. Due to their drive and natural herding instincts, they can be known to nip at running children. They’re affectionate towards their family but can be suspicious of other animals and sometimes strangers.

The Heeler has an immense work ethic, notoriously intelligent, energetic, and independent. It’s a high energy breed that requires both mental and physical challenges to prevent unwanted and unruly behaviors.

Foster challenged his mind and balance by conquering place on an unstable swing. His owners reported that Foster is normally skeptical of moving surfaces. Through motivation, praise, time and patience Foster enjoyed tackling a new object and gained more confidence in the process!
