Hello friends!
We just wanted to take a moment to touch on a few topics. π₯°
First, we've had an astounding amount of new client calls this week and while most have booked appointments there are also some simply price checking and looking for the lowest price. We just want to take a moment to put out there that we are not the cheapest groomer in Greenwood.
We are slightly more expensive than our competition and we are okay with that. We offer many things in our base package that our competition up charges, and we also just do things differently. When your price is low you have to make that up with volume, and this leads to lower quality and leaves little time to form a relationship with your furry clients. We take the time to bond with your pet. Good things are rarely cheap, and cheap things are rarely good.
In addition, our slightly higher price allows for high end products and the ability to try new products. This allows us to offer many things included with our service like blueberry facials and medicated shampoo. We firmly believe that every pet deserves a certain quality of care and refuse to offer any less. And we charge what we have to in order to maintain that quality. We like who we are and we are going to keep doing us! So, for any potential new clients reading this, if you are simply looking for the cheapest in town, go right ahead and skip over us! π«Ά
Secondly, we've had quite a few clients showing up before their pets are ready and before we've messaged. We get that you want your furry best friend back, and we want to get them to you, but when you come in your pup gets excited to see you and it makes our job a whole lot harder. It also makes the entire experience less safe for us and you pup. Your pup may get frustrated after seeing you and not being able to leave, and this makes them more likely to choose violence with their groomer. In addition we work with sharp objects and unpredictable animals, and the more our client moves the higher the risk of accident. We haven't had any accidents yet, but this is always a big worry for us.
We have updated our messages that go out for appointments to remind owners to wait for a ready message and we will be hanging a sign on the door. We realize that a lot of our clients that are now new to Alayna and Krissy were used to their groomer rushing and getting their kids back ASAP, but we're committed to making this a more relaxed experience and taking the time needed to build trust and a relationship with your pups. The only ways to get the pups out faster would be to sacrifice the time an attention we spend on them, and we simply won't do that.
We are actively working to help this situation though by.. training our beloved Jess! Jess has been with us since July 2025 and has already bathed many of your pups and kitties. She has consistently and constantly shown a strong love for all of our clients and the attentive and affectionate handling style that we have become known for. We are incredibly excited for the opportunity to mentor Jess, and we know she will make an amazing groomer. Jess will begin her apprenticeship in May of 2026!
And finally, we are booking out! As of right now we are completely booked for the upcoming week (March 3rd-7th) and we have very limited availability the week after (March 10th-14th) so please keep this in mind! Book early, and please consider rebooking your next appointment at the end of your current one, especially if you are monthly.
We will be reaching out later today/Monday to any self-booking monthly clients for the rest of the month to encourage them to book their next appointments before our availability goes out far enough to push them outside their monthly discounted rate.
If you made it all the way here with us, from the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU for reading the entire message! We do our best to not have to make long-winded posts often, but sometimes we just have to. Now, back to our clients!
