Sharon has Cooper, a 6-month-old Goldendoodle. 🐾

On day one she typed, "I feel like I'm doing it all wrong. Not Cooper's fault."

And then a little later, same call: "It's all clicking."

Sharon, if you are reading this, I want you to hear me. It is not Cooper's fault. And it was never your fault either.

On day one, Jeannie called her sweet, energetic Schnoodle Rio a bully.

About 40 minutes later she typed, "Love your phrase. Rio's having a difficult moment."

Same dog. Forty minutes. A completely different lens. 🐾

It's not that your Doodle is ignoring you when you call them. It's not stubbornness, and it's not a training failure on your part either.

Most of the time, a shaky recall means those needs buckets aren't full yet. Doodles are bred for partnership, and when that connection piece is missing, recall falls apart fast.

You might see it as sniffing everything but you, running the other direction at the dog park, or that classic "selective hearing" the moment you say their name. Sound familiar? 🐾

You're not failing, and your Doodle isn't broken. Recall is a skill built through the right approach, not through repeating a word louder and hoping it sticks.
