Rusty the 12 year old mule came in about 3 weeks ago to work on his handle.
He had no brakes, was hard in the mouth, stiff in the neck, wouldn’t lope, and wanted to throw his head up to get away from the boy instead of being soft.
Well, being a mule that’s set in his ways, he’s been a tough case, but he’s come along enough to be able to use his body to get a barrel pattern done without running past it or pushing through the bit and hauling butt back to the barn. He’s come a long way and can only get better from here!
Anyway, here’s a barrel racing gaited mule. 🤪 Maybe he secretly wanted to be a performance mule instead of just walking down the trails.
