Yesterday I experienced something I wish I never had to ever in my life but when you work with animals constantly bad things are bound to happen. For the first time I lost a dog on my watch. I won’t go into details but the vet reassured me there was nothing I did or could have done to save this pup as it was a condition about as rare as getting struck by lightning. However that doesn’t change the fact that I am absolutely devastated by the events of yesterday and am extremely heartbroken. This pup was so sweet and so young. I’m mainly posting this as a memorial but also to hopefully comfort other people in the pet industry this may happen to. Things happen and sometimes they are completely out of our control I know my first instinct is to blame myself and put every ounce of responsibility on my actions even if that’s not the case. Thank you so much to Whitney Linnenkohl Ozment Stone Ave Vet for being the absolute best friend and support in this situation and reassuring me that this is not on me. But the pain I’m feeling right now and the sadness still won’t end. I know you will be up in heaven wagging your tail like crazy. Until we meet again pup I love you Nancy and will cherish every second I got to spend with you.
