Our residents never leave with "just anyone", but a solid black kitten in October?

Jinx was going to excellent adopters, or she was staying with us until after spooky season. You can see the outcome! 🖤

From a storm drain at the post office to her own personal heating pad, Allie & her adorable daughter are showing Miss Jinx the power of a real home. 🐈‍⬛️

A five-hour event on a cool Saturday afternoon at Gregory Lake in Drakesboro proved something incredible: we are not in this alone.

We saw so many familiar faces alongside so many new ones, everyone coming together for one single reason—our shared love for animals.

Today, Jax & Brutus—our two special guests from the event—joined us in the parking lot to personally thank Brenda, her team, and Jennifer as they delivered a lobby full of donations and a check for $2,700! 🐾❤️

None of this would have been possible without an idea and a venue, and these two amazing ladies provided both!

Here is how our community showed up:
$2,000 – Ms. Brenda & Gregory Lake
$480 – Vendors
$120 – Cash/Check Donations (Thank you to Tambra, and to the gentleman from Florida who missed the event but made sure to send his support anyway!)

We’re not quite ready to say “Save the Date”… because we don’t have a date yet. 😂

BUT… sometime this November/December, we’re planning a Christmas fundraiser for the shelter featuring one seriously awesome piece of automotive history owned by one of our board members.

That’s right… THE GRISWOLD CHRISTMAS CAR! 🚗🎄😂

We’re going to be parking this beauty around town and giving you the chance to bring the whole family down for a one-of-a-kind 2026 Christmas photo — all for a donation to the shelter. 🐾❤️

So start digging out those ugly Christmas sweaters. Call your cousin Eddie. Round up Uncle Clark, heck bring the whole dysfunctional family! 😂

Before the Halloween fun at Gregory Lake RV Park, our Saturday morning was spent at the Muhlenberg County Agriculture Center where we were honored to be part of the Community Clean-up event.

👏 Cheers to each of the faces you see, plus several others who were unloading materials & weren't able to jump in the photo.

It's so easy to proclaim "someone needs to ... ", but those words are stagnant without leadership & action. We're truly grateful for their service to the people AND domestic animals of Muhlenberg. 🐾

👉 But who's that gorgeous Brindle lady with 4 legs? The very adoptable Miss Trixie! ❤️
