Level Assessments and MOCK Assessments

The weather is becoming more tolerable and as a result, Level Assessments are opening up!

If you have been on the fence about trying for a level assessment and aren't sure if you and/or your dog is ready or getting close to ready, a MOCK Assessment can be quite helpful.
You will be sent out the information just as you will receive it for your actual assessment and you'll experience the trail as if it were assessment day.
Should you reach a point where you need or want instruction, you may ask for it and turn the session into an instructional trailing session.
I am not going to require you to have all of your trails completed and be "ready" on paper for your MOCK assessment and you are welcome and encouraged to log this trail in your book!

Actual Assessment spots for the end of November and beyond are open and you can reach out to me to book those spots or if you know you're getting close and want to go ahead and schedule, that works as well!

Assessments will require you to have met all of the requirements (such as 20 trails in your log book for Level 1 and 2).

There are a few MOCK assessment spots listed on BOOKWHEN, so go check those out! If you need a date not listed, you can always text me and we can work together to set up dates that work for you.

I am here to help and support you and your dog as you chase your goals! Let's welcome this cooler season and hit those milestones together!

Let’s talk about your Scent Inventory!

Don’t take this step for granted…

Not only is this a time for your dog to normalize the area, there is sooo much opportunity for your dog to communicate with you during your scent inventory. Watch your dog… head snaps, staring off and other shifts in behavior are clues that can help you gather information about your trail.

Don’t hesitate to expand your scent inventory either! Pictured is an advanced team from this weekend gathering as much knowledge about their aged trail.

Don’t worry if your dog seems lost doing this when you first start Mantrailing. Over time, the dogs develop an understanding that this is part of the beginning ritual and they begin to organically use this time to normalize the area and most of the time, they start showing those behavior changes I mentioned above.

If you have any questions about the scent inventory, feel free to reach out!
