This was in Dare County, well outside the 50 mile radius of my rabbitry but still valuable information

Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus Type 2 (RHDV2) was recently confirmed in two pet rabbits in North Carolina. State officials report no known exposure to other domestic rabbits or wildlife, and the situation is being monitored.

This post is for awareness, not alarm.

Key points:
• RHDV2 affects rabbits only
• It does not affect people or other animals
• It spreads through contact with rabbits, cages, clothing, shoes, and insects

For showing rabbits:
• ARBA shows are still allowed unless restricted by state authorities
• Do not show rabbits that appear sick
• Follow ARBA show rules and any state travel requirements

What you can do:
• Watch your rabbits for illness
• Quarantine new rabbits
• Clean and disinfect carriers, cages, and shoes

If you experience unexplained rabbit deaths, contact your veterinarian or state agriculture department.

Show B ended with a Best of Breed for my Otter Senior Doe AND a Best Opposite S*x Breed for my Otter Senior Buck! A first for me to take both top spots. 🤯
My otters got some great comments on their color which I have been working hard on.

Spring litters started appearing today! 🙏 for many healthy litters this round….19 does *should* be bred

NOGAME (broken blue out of opal bred to a castor buck) is preparing for her litter due on 10/30, we have litters due 10/30 and 10/31 so I guess we will need some spooky names! Expected are castors, opals, broken castors, broken opals and possibly some otters if the agouti gene doesn’t win out. The focus was on castor this breeding round.
