Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is causing poor air quality in Grand Rapids today. This kind of air can be harmful not just for people, but for pets too.

Sensitive groups may feel the effects right away and should avoid outdoor activity. Even healthy individuals may experience trouble breathing or throat irritation, so it's a good idea to stay indoors when possible.

If you're walking your dog, keep it short and quick. Just enough time to do their business, then head back inside where it’s safer to breathe.

Even healthy animals can be affected. Pets with respiratory issues, seniors, and flat-faced breeds are especially at risk.

Let’s take it easy today and keep everyone safe indoors, people and pets alike! 💙
