How could you not love a face like this? Even while receiving fluids as a part of his treatment!š Bob is a handsome 1.5-year-old gentleman who earned his name honestly... thanks to his adorable bobtail! Add in that precious little milk mustache, and heās impossible to resist. š»
Despite being sweet, friendly, and loved in his forever home, Bob recently came in to see us for urinary concerns. One possible contributor? Stress! His family shared that he may have been a little upset after getting "kicked out" of the bedroom. While that might seem like a small change to us, cats can be incredibly sensitive to disruptions in their routine, environment, or access to their favorite people and spaces.
š Changes such as:
⢠New pets or family members
⢠Moving furniture or homes
⢠Schedule changes
⢠Being restricted from favorite areas of the house
⢠Boarding or travel
..can all create stress that may contribute to urinary issues in some cats.
ā ļø However, it's important to remember that urinary problems should never be assumed to be "just stress." Difficulty urinating, frequent trips to the litter box, straining, vocalizing, blood in the urine, or urinating outside the litter box should be evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. Urinary blockages, especially in male cats, can become life-threatening very quickly.
Thankfully, Bob's family recognized something wasn't quite right and brought him in for an evaluation. š
Let's hear it for Bob and his iconic tail, unforgettable mustache, and the reminder that even the sweetest cats can tell us when something is wrong in subtle ways. Give your kitties an extra snuggle tonight... preferably in their favorite room! šø
