September is Animal Pain Awareness Month, and it’s a great time to remember that our pets don’t always show pain in obvious ways. In fact, many pets instinctively hide their discomfort. ❤️

Keep an eye out for subtle changes, including:

🐾 Decreased activity or reluctance to play

🐾 Difficulty getting up, sitting, or using stairs

🐾 Hiding or withdrawing from family

🐾 Changes in appetite or drinking

🐾 Changes in grooming habits

🐾 Increased vocalization or unusual behavior

🐾 Becoming less tolerant of touch or handling

Sometimes, what looks like “just getting older” can actually be a sign of pain or an underlying medical condition.

You know your pet best. If you notice a change in their normal behavior or routine, don’t ignore it. Early recognition and treatment of pain can make a meaningful difference in your pet’s comfort and quality of life. 🐶🐱💙
