🐾 PUPPY UPDATE: From Our Home to Theirs! 🏡❤️

It is so quiet around here! With almost all of our sweet puppies now settled into their forever homes, we only have one little pup left keeping us company.

We’ve been checking in on our babies who left over the last couple of weeks, and our hearts are completely bursting from the updates and pictures we’ve received. They are thriving, learning, and bringing so much joy!

Here is a little look at what our amazing puppy families are saying:

✨ Poppy is doing wonderful! She had a great vet checkup, is in perfect health, and her family says she is calm, playful, and incredibly clever.

✨ Remy is adjusting beautifully! His family is so grateful for the scent blanket and toy which made a huge difference in his kennel. His gorgeous coat is already growing like crazy!

✨ Pippa is an absolute "angel on earth." She plays hard, sleeps hard, and is a brave little thing who isn't afraid to show how tough she is! 😂

✨ Gertrude is already learning to sit and doing great with her buddy Otto!

✨ Ouiser is getting more comfortable every day. Her personality is shining, she's exploring the yard, and she hasn't had a single accident in her crate!

✨ Dexter is already a total smarty-pants! He is a "precious bundle of joy" who speaks on command and wakes his family up to go outside to potty.

✨ Roscoe just left for his new home today, and his dad says he is already bringing the laughs—he's "so cute and funny" and making his new family incredibly happy!

✨ Della is a total dream. She had a perfect vet checkup, is sleeping great at night with zero crying, and already has her first beauty parlor appointment booked!

A massive thank you to all of our incredible puppy families for loving these babies just as much as we do. It makes all the hard work so worth it! 🐶

Raising a puppy means navigating the "Land Shark" phase! It's 100% normal, and here is how to handle it. 🐾

✨As I prepare to say goodbye to my final two Miniature Schnauzer puppies this weekend, we are officially in the thick of normal puppy teething. If your sweet pup has suddenly become super mouthy and snappy, don't worry—you didn't get a "bad" puppy! They are just growing up and exploring their world.

A little note on our breeding philosophy and how we find the perfect homes for our puppies! 🐾

Raising these puppies is a labor of love, and our biggest priority is ensuring they go to families where we feel a genuine, trusted connection. Because of this, our application process and a real phone conversation are mandatory parts of our process.

Our goal is a perfect match. Every puppy has a unique personality, and every home has a different lifestyle. Just as you want to get the very best puppy to fit your life, I want to get the very best people for my puppies. The written application gives us a baseline, but hearing your voice, sharing stories, and chatting person-to-person is how we truly get to know you. It allows me to match the perfect puppy temperament to your specific household.

We know the modern world relies heavily on screens and texting, but we still believe in the beauty of the human touch. We completely understand if phone calls aren't your preference! However, if you are uncomfortable speaking on the phone, we might not be the right breeder for you—and that is totally okay. But if you love the idea of a good, old-fashioned chat about dogs, we can't wait to talk with you! 📞❤️

The last sibling transition: teaching puppy independence 🐾❤️

He is in a perfectly safe, temperature-controlled environment, has been fed, watered, and loved, and is simply learning a vital life skill: how to be independent. No puppies were harmed in the making of this video! 😉👇

Our handsome little black and silver male is officially the last of his litter remaining. Now that his littermate sister has left for her forever home, he is experiencing his very first time completely on his own.

As you can hear, he is having some normal bouts of whining, crying, and a little bit of anxiety. For new puppy parents, this can be heartbreaking to listen to, but it is a completely natural part of the coping and development process. Up until this point, littermates believe they must always stay together for safety and comfort. Learning to be alone takes practice!

Important Tip for New Puppy Parents:

The single most important rule during this frantic state is not to go to them while they are actively crying or barking.

If you rush to comfort them while they are frantic, you accidentally teach them that crying "works" to get attention. Instead, wait for a brief window of silence—even just 5 to 10 seconds—before entering the room or letting them out. This teaches them that calm behavior is what brings you back.

Tips to ease the transition:

Safe space: Keep them in a cozy crate or exercise pen with a safe chew toy to distract their minds.

Background noise: Play calm music or leave a TV on low volume to break the eerie silence.

Warmth & comfort: Use a heartbeat toy or a safe, warm heat pack wrapped in a blanket to simulate a sleeping littermate.

Hang in there, little guy! You are doing great, totally safe, and learning to be a brave, independent puppy. 💪

From fluffy furball to handsome little man! ✂️✨

Anna & Jet’s black and silver boy just had his very first grooming session here at Brock’s miniature schnauzers of Louisiana, and the transformation is unreal!

Keeping a busy puppy still is always a challenge, but making sure it’s a positive experience is everything. He did so well! 🥹

Stick around for the end of the time-lapse—his reaction to his new haircut in the mirror is priceless (even if I spent half the time tapping the glass to get his attention).

And make sure to watch those last few clips! Seeing him run toward me in slow motion after he was all done is just the cutest thing ever. 🏃‍♂️❤️

🥣 Puppy Feeding & Fueling 🥣

An 8-week-old puppy burns a lot of energy, and establishing a solid meal schedule right from the start makes your potty training routine much easier.

2 Meals a Day: Keep it simple by dividing their daily food intake into two main meals—one in the morning and one in the evening.

Establish Routine: Leave the bowl down for 15–20 minutes, then pick up whatever they haven't finished. This teaches them to eat when the food is served and creates a predictable digestion schedule so you know exactly when they need to go outside!

Water Curfew: Pick up the water bowl about 2 hours before bedtime to help minimize those middle-of-the-night bathroom runs.👇

🏠 Crate Training: Building a Safe Den 🏠

Crates are an amazing tool for safety and house-training, but it takes a little time for an 8-week-old puppy to get used to being alone.

Here is how to make it a positive experience:

Make it a Den: Never use the crate as a punishment. Toss treats inside, let them eat their meals in there, and keep it cozy with a safe toy.

Expect the Whining: They will cry when you first close the door. Ignore the noise and only let them out when they are quiet. If you let them out while crying, they learn that whining equals freedom!

Nighttime Routine: Keep the crate right next to your bed for now so they can smell and hear you. If they cry in the middle of the night, take them out for a boring, business-only potty trip on a leash, then put them right back in.
