If you want MORE wildflowers and grasses, leave the dried stems and seedheads! The birds will feast on them and redistribute the seed, sowing spring's bounty! Grow your garden for good. Plant for the pollinators.

Interesting.

Did you know that bees see colour, but that they see colour differently than we do? Like many insects, bees see wavelengths from approximately 300 to 650 nm. We see wavelengths from approximately 390 to 750 nm.
•
This means that although bees cannot see the colour red, they can see in the ultraviolet spectrum, unlike us. Many flowering plants have formed distinctive ultraviolet colour patterns that are eye-catching to bees and therefore attract them to eat from their flowers.
•
Some flowering plants have evolved landing zones called nectar guides that point bees towards the parts of their flowers that contain nectar and pollen, which increases the likelihood that pollen will stick to the bee and that pollination will occur.
