Sedgefield Animal Hospital is a well-established, full- service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. Our job is not only to treat your pet when he or she isn't feeling well, but also to help you learn how to keep your best friend happy and healthy.

We had our first group of young readers stop by yesterday for the 2026 Greensboro Summer Reading Trail! 📚🐾

A group of six kids visited us, and Lily treated everyone to a special story-time. Afterwards, the kids got to meet and interact with our Red Dog Farm foster guinea pigs, Leroy, and Dr. de Castro’s dog, Gobi. Needless to say, everyone had a blast!🐹🐈🐶

The Greensboro Summer Reading Trail runs now through July 31st. Visit 12 of the 22 participating locations, read the featured books, collect stamps or stickers, and turn in your completed map to receive a FREE book and be entered into the grand prize giveaway.

Trail maps are available at our hospital, or you can register and download your map online. We hope to see your young readers stopping by this summer! 📖☀️

🐾 Meet our June Pet of the Month: Miss Mochi! 🐾

Meet the one and only Miss Mochi, a sassy little lady with a big personality!

Mochi's favorite toy is a simple ribbon tied to a stick, and nothing catches her attention quite like the smell of chicken. When it comes to snacks, she's far too sophisticated for treats—she'll only accept kibble, thank you very much.

This chatty girl loves to hold conversations with her humans and can often be found curled up sleeping on them... but only when she's in the mood.

One of Mochi's most adorable quirks is that she has no teeth, so when she tries to chew on plastic, she makes the funniest little squeaky noises that never fail to make her family laugh.

Mochi joined her family after being adopted from Red Dog Farm Animal Rescue in August 2024. She first met her humans at Crooked Tail Cat Cafe, although her dad prefers to tell everyone that he heroically pulled her out of a storm drain himself.

We're so happy Miss Mochi found her perfect forever family and are honored to be her veterinarian and feature her as our June Pet of the Month!

We’re so excited to be part of the 2026 Greensboro Summer Reading Trail again this year! 📚☀️

The trail officially kicks off June 1 and runs through July 31. Families can visit participating local businesses across Greensboro, read a different children’s book at each stop, and collect stamps or stickers along the way.

Here’s how it works:
📖 Visit at least 12 of the 22 participating locations
⭐ Read the featured book at each stop
🗺️ Collect stamps or stickers on your trail map
🎁 Turn in your completed map to receive a FREE book and be entered into the grand prize giveaway!

Happy birthday to two of our favorites! 🥳🎉

Today we’re celebrating Will, our wonderful veterinary assistant, and birthday girl MooCat, who turned 14 today!

Will joined our team almost a year ago and immediately hit the ground running. He’s eager to learn, dedicated to our patients, and truly a wonderful asset to the team. We can’t wait to watch him achieve his goal of becoming a veterinarian one day. 🩺🐾

MooCat may be known as our “break room clinic cat,” but she just prefers the quieter side of the hospital away from the busy day hubbub and stranger danger. She’s also a tiny packrat who loves stealing treasures like paperclips… and the occasional chicken nugget if given the chance. 😸

Be sure to wish them both a very happy birthday! 🎉
