Just kidding, it’s actually the 24th. We will be open.

Greenfield’s Front Street Festival is this weekend. Since most of Front Street will be blocked off, we are going to close this Saturday, October 17. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Karin4Kritters K9 Rescue worked extra hard earlier this summer to help y’all spay and neuter several dogs and lots of cats. Please consider supporting them and other local rescues by bidding on items or going to this event.

The best part of the cat spay/neuter special is looking at how many kittens we prevented. For the month of September, 99 female cats and 59 male cats were altered. That’s 158 animals that were prevented from continuously reproducing. The average cat has 4 kittens per litter at a maximum 3 litters per year. That’s just shy of 1200 kittens that were prevented. This is how we curb overpopulation. Thank you for letting me help stop overpopulation. We will have another cat alter special in the spring, but now I need to look at something other than cat reproductive parts.

2. Dr. Cox will be here, Friday, October 2.

3. For the month of October, Rabies vaccines will be $10. If you have been watching the news recently, rabies exposure and cases are on the rise across the US. Please protect yourself and your pets. We are having technological difficulties as I’m not very technology savvy. If you have been in recently to update your vaccines and you get a reminder to update them again, please disregard. We are working on fixing the glitch. Also, please be kind. It takes more time and energy to be angry.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32.

Thank you to Karin4Kritters for partnering with us, for helping Greenfield and surrounding areas, and for “Karing” for people and their pets. Please if you feel led, donate to their organization. They are truly great people and do a great job caring for animals in their care.

🐾 Spay & Neuter Grant Update! 🐾

Thanks to your support, Karin 4 Kritters has made real progress in the fight against pet overpopulation! In partnership with Terrell Veterinary Clinic, here's what we've accomplished over the last two months:

🐕 Dog Spays: 21
🐕 Dog Neuters: 10
🐈 Cat Spays: 44
🐈 Cat Neuters: 42

That's 117 animals fixed — and it matters more than the number alone suggests. A single unspayed female cat and her descendants can theoretically produce hundreds of kittens within just a few years, and an unspayed female dog and her descendants can add dozens more puppies in that same window. Multiply that across the number of female animals we spayed in this round alone, and we've likely prevented thousands of unplanned kittens and puppies from ever being born. And male stray cats will move around making babies as long as he can.

Accidental litters are a real problem here in West Tennessee. Our local shelters and pounds are already full — often over capacity — with puppies and kittens that were never planned for and have nowhere to go. Every animal we fix today is one less litter added to that number tomorrow.

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Dr. Cunningham and the entire team at Terrell Veterinary Clinic. This was my very first state spay/neuter grant, and they showed us so much patience and grace as we learned the ropes together. We couldn't have asked for a better partner to walk through this process with us — thank you for believing in this mission and for all the care you've given these animals. 🙏💙

We do have some remaining costs from this round that we're still working to cover, so if you're able to chip in to help us close that gap — or to fund more surgeries for animals still waiting — every dollar goes straight back into keeping West TN pets healthy and shelters a little less full.
