I’d like to take minute to celebrate my husband, and co-owner of the clinic. Today was our 19th wedding anniversary-19 years of steadfast support to get us to where we are today. These last two months he has brought me many late night dinners to the clinic and held down everything at home with the kids and household. He is a selfless partner and deserves to be recognized for his contributions behind the scenes. I count my blessings everyday that I found him and get to share adventures with him.

Indianapolis is grieving today with the news of another loss from our veterinary community.

The veterinary field has one of the highest su***de rates due to many factors including but not limited to high emotional stress, performing euthanasias, high levels of debt, cyberbullying, and compassion fatigue.

We often see the ugliest side of people when we charge for our services or can’t fit you in. Somehow a full schedule and recommending you seek care elsewhere means we don’t care. We have a high debt-to-income ratio due to the cost of our education yet we’re told we’re trying to get rich when recommended services outside of your unknown budget. Our profession is literally killing themselves trying to care for your pet and make you happy.

This is your reminder that we are human. We have families and pets of our own to go home to. We face barriers and challenges behind the scenes that you can’t understand so please, please, please be kind. We care. I promise we care and we’re trying every single day for your pet.

Thank you for everyone’s patience during our shutdown for the basement. We had a surprise water line break right after that flooded the rear of the property and affected our water pressure 😵‍💫😵‍💫. I think anything that can go wrong, has gone wrong so far but we’re still smiling and seeing as many patients as we can while we continue updates!
