Today is National Holistic Pet Day, and your neighborhood veterinarian is jumping on to dedicate today’s post to your pet’s comprehensive wellbeing. 🪷🐾
At Greenfield Animal Hospital, we believe in a blend of Western and Eastern Veterinary practices to promote your pet’s best self, which is why we offer an array of holistic and alternative treatments including: 🌱
-Acupuncture & Electro-Acupuncture
-Chiropractic adjustments
-Hydrotherapy
-Physiotherapy & Conditioning
-Electric stimulation
-Therapeutic laser
Our qualified veterinarians who perform acupuncture are Dr. Akawi and Dr. Serfis, who
both received professional certification through the Chi Institute in FL.
Dr. Akawi also performs chiropractic adjustments, which can help ease pain, improve flexibility and mobility, and even enhance organ function.
Our hospital is equipped with an entire rehabilitation center, including an indoor pool and underwater treadmill. Rehabilitation through hydrotherapy or therapeutic laser can reduce pain, inflammation, and swelling, and increase range of motion, strength, mobility, function and fitness.
💦Studies have shown that, with hydrotherapy, animals recovering from surgery or injury heal up to 50 or 60 percent faster than with other therapeutic methods. Why?👇
-The buoyancy lessens the weight-bearing load on an animal’s limbs
-This helps reduce pain and lets the animal start therapy earlier
-Water applies pressure on an animal’s limbs, which helps decrease inflammation and improve circulation
-Muscle conditioning in water is not only an effective way of building up cardiovascular strength and endurance, but animals often find it fun!
