Like Fido waiting for dinner, we here at Roman Acres Veterinary Hospital appreciate your patience! When you arrive for your scheduled appointment time, we have set aside that time to help you and your pet. Unfortunately, setting aside the exact right amount of time can be a challenge. What do you do if a wellness appointment discovers a medical problem that requires workup on top of all the other services they are here for today?

We do our best to stick to the schedule because we know your time is valuable just like ours. Unfortunately in our field, delays can happen at any time.
If you're in a time-crunch:
DO - Let us know!
DO - Discuss if there are services that can be completed at a follow-up visit

DON'T - Get angry, yell at staff, use profanity or emotional blackmail
DON'T - Leave without letting someone know

Two of our lovely patients have gone missing after a traffic accident in the Castle Creek Area! Please keep an eye out and reach out if you see them! We're hoping to get these wonderful pets back to their loving owners!

Our capacity for Urgent Care today is filling up quick. We're here today and tomorrow 8am to 4pm.

Our services and capabilities are in the orange column of the below image. If you call with an issue outlined in the red column, we will generally refer you to an Emergency Hospital as we usually don't have the capability to assist in those cases, as well as being unable to hospitalize any patients overnight.

We will always gladly see your pet for an issue in the yellow column but it may be something you can see your primary care vet for.

💨Poor air quality is a serious risk, not only for you, but for your pets! This is especially true for cats, who are very sensitive to inhaled particulates, and can develop signs of asthma rapidly. Keep your pets indoors and limit outside activity on days like today. 🐱🐶

Signs of difficulty breathing can include increased respiratory effort (this can look like a pet using their entire body/abdomen to breath, tipping their elbows out, extending their head/neck, or open-mouth breathing for cats) or coughing. Most pets take less than 30 breaths per minute while sleeping (you can count number of breaths taken over 15 seconds and multiply by 4 to get their average number of breaths per minute). If you notice signs of difficulty breathing or a persistently elevated respiratory rate, it is important to seek emergency veterinary care! Respiratory disease can be life threatening!
