Why has our approach to declawing changed?

Many procedures in veterinary medicine are viewed differently today than they were years ago as new research, experience, and professional guidelines emerge. Declawing is one example.

In this month's Docs' Diaries, we're sharing information about what declawing involves, how recommendations have evolved within the veterinary profession, and the alternatives available to help cats and their families live comfortably together.

Whether your cat was declawed years ago or still has all of their claws, our goal is the same: helping every cat live a healthy, comfortable life.

We had the best time at Pet Palooza this past weekend! It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces-as well as meet new members of our community.

Our trivia wheel was a huge hit, giving us the opportunity to share pet health and safety knowledge and fun facts (did you know the oldest dog recorded lived to an age of 29 years & 5 months??) while having a lot of fun along the way. We loved seeing kids (and plenty of adults!) show off their new temporary tattoos and stickers, too!

A special thank you to our team members who volunteered their time to make the day a success. Being involved in the Greendale community is incredibly important to us, and events like this remind us why we love what we do.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by to spin the wheel, ask questions, learn something new, and celebrate pets with us. We can't wait for next year!

We are hosting another pet CPR course at WVRC Waukesha! This workshop is designed to help pet owners feel more prepared in the event of an emergency. Learn how to assess an unresponsive pet, perform chest compressions, and recognize when immediate veterinary care is needed.
