🐾💗 A Heartfelt Message from Wagging Divas 💗🐾

Hi everyone! 💕

I wanted to take a moment to sincerely apologize for the recent appointment cancellations and last-minute changes. I know how frustrating and inconvenient this can be, and I truly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

As some of you may know, I live with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a neurological condition that can cause unpredictable symptoms, including seizures, weakness, temporary paralysis, and other physical challenges.

Unfortunately, I’ve recently been experiencing a significant flare-up that has affected my ability to work and safely groom your fur babies. 💔

One of the hardest parts of living with FND is never knowing when my symptoms may suddenly appear or how long they may last. I can feel perfectly fine one day and struggle to function the next. It’s incredibly frustrating, especially when I love what I do so much.

Please know that canceling appointments is never a decision I take lightly. I care deeply about every single one of my clients and their pets. Your fur babies’ safety will always come first, and I never want to put them at risk by attempting to groom when I’m not physically able to give them the care and attention they deserve.

I’m doing my absolute best to respond to everyone’s messages, keep appointments updated, and get everyone rescheduled as quickly as my health allows.

Running a small business while battling a chronic neurological condition isn’t always easy, but grooming is something I’m incredibly passionate about, and I refuse to let this condition take away something I love. 🐶✂️

To everyone who has shown me kindness, patience, and understanding during this difficult time — thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your support means more to me than you could ever imagine.

I am so sorry for the inconvenience these recent cancellations have caused. Thank you for continuing to support me and Wagging Divas through both the good days and the difficult ones. 💗

With love and appreciation,

Shanai 🐾💕

🐾💕 A Little Personal Update From Behind the Scenes at Wagging Divas 💕🐾

I wanted to take a moment to share something personal with all of my amazing clients. This isn’t an easy post for me to make, but I feel it’s important to be open about some of the challenges I face that aren’t always visible to others.

I live with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), Psychogenic Nonepileptic Seizures (PNES), and other ongoing health challenges.

For those who aren’t familiar, FND is a real neurological condition that affects how the brain and body communicate. It can cause seizure-like episodes, extreme fatigue, weakness, pain, brain fog, memory difficulties, and other unpredictable symptoms. PNES causes involuntary seizure episodes that can be physically and mentally exhausting.

One of the hardest parts about living with these conditions is that I never know what kind of day I’m going to have. I can feel completely fine one moment and suddenly become overwhelmed by symptoms the next. Some days I can function almost normally, while other days even the simplest tasks can feel impossible.

These conditions affect so much more than just my work. They affect my independence, my energy, my ability to make plans, and my everyday life. There are things I wish I could do that my body simply won’t allow me to do anymore.

And as much as I love grooming, my health doesn’t always cooperate with my schedule. 💔

Sometimes that means I have to reschedule appointments unexpectedly, respond to messages later than I’d like, or take time away from work to recover. Please understand that these decisions are never made lightly. I know how frustrating last-minute changes can be, especially when you’ve planned your day around an appointment.

What many people don’t see is how hard I push myself behind the scenes to keep doing something I genuinely love. Grooming isn’t just a job to me. Every dog that walks through my door matters, and I take so much pride in providing them with a safe, comfortable, one-on-one experience.

But I’ve also had to learn that pushing through my symptoms isn’t always possible or safe, especially when I’m responsible for someone else’s beloved pet. If I need to cancel or reschedule because of my health, it’s because I would never want to put your baby or myself in an unsafe situation.

I also want to explain that having an invisible illness doesn’t mean I’m not sick. Just because I may look okay, smile, laugh, or have a good day doesn’t mean these conditions aren’t affecting me. Some of my hardest battles are ones nobody ever sees.

I am doing everything I can to manage my health, communicate with everyone, and continue providing the quality of care your pets deserve. I am always trying to get back to messages and reschedule appointments as quickly as possible, even when I’m struggling myself.

I’m not sharing this for sympathy or as an excuse. I’m sharing it because I want my clients to understand that there’s a real person behind this small business who is trying her absolute best while navigating health challenges that are often completely out of her control.

I love what I do, I love your babies, and I don’t want my health conditions to take away something that brings me so much happiness. 🐶💗

To everyone who has shown me patience, kindness, understanding, and continued support, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have no idea how much it means to me.

All I ask is for a little grace and understanding on the days when my health has to come first.

Thank you for supporting Wagging Divas and the person behind the grooming table. 🐾💕

It’s been about over a year since i’ve had my business. I’ve lost a good bit of babies this year and would love to honor their name. Athena, Rex, Gus, Ellie, Bella, Chaka, and Diamond. You will always be a thought in my mind and a memory in my heart. You all deserved more time here on earth, but I know you’re all just as happy to be in doggy heaven with your other friends. Thank you to the owners of these beautiful angels for letting me be their last groomer. I love your babies like they’re my own.

🚨 NEW LATE PICKUP POLICY — PLEASE READ 🚨

I’ve tried to be very understanding and flexible when it comes to pickup times, but unfortunately, late pickups have become a recurring issue.

Effective immediately, there will be a $1 PER MINUTE late pickup fee.

When I let you know that your dog will be ready at a certain time, please be there at that time. You are not my only client. I have other appointments, responsibilities, and things scheduled throughout my day, and when a dog is left here well beyond their scheduled pickup time, it interferes with the rest of my schedule.

I am a dog groomer. I am not a doggy daycare.

I completely understand that things happen! If you know you’re going to be a little late and communicate with me ahead of time, I am more than willing to work with you when possible. I appreciate the heads-up because it allows me to plan accordingly.

However, if you do not communicate with me and your dog is not picked up at the agreed-upon time, the late fee will apply.

30 minutes late = $30 late fee
1 hour late = $60 late fee
PLUS the cost of your grooming service.

I have worked hard to keep my grooming prices reasonable, and I try to be as accommodating as possible. But my time also has value, and I cannot continue losing time from my schedule because dogs are not being picked up when they are supposed to be.

Please respect my time the same way I respect yours. ❤️🐾

Thank you to all of my clients who consistently communicate and pick up their pups on time. I truly appreciate you!

I’m looking to find this baby! Her name if I can remember is Diamond and she used to go to Yappy Days Pet Grooming before they closed. She was the biggest and heaviest baby and I loved grooming her. If you’re Diamonds mom or dad, I’d love to see your baby again if you don’t already have another groomer in line 🩷

This was one of my favorite grooms of the year. He was the biggest sweetheart 🤎🥹

Very very informative for ALL pet owners. I have had plenty of dogs come in like this. They definitely should be going to the vet to get it removed so they can be sedated, but i’m always willing to do everything i can to help and make things financially cheaper for my clients. A lot of the time the pet parent doesn’t know their dog is this matted. All of the untouched hair covers it and the matting creates a hard surface, which they assume is their dogs body. But unfortunately it’s not.
