Lovely morning at Sunrise Therapeutic Services - Sunrise Riders. 15 yr old Zoe, of Conway, took a lesson on Buster perfecting different ways to ride the trot, sitting, standing, posting and 2-point(half seat)position. She also practiced using her body, breath and energy to rate her horse's speed and to ride into the halt, while not relying only on her hands to just pull the horse into a halt. (In fact, Instructor, Carole Smith, always taught us that "pull" was a naughty four letter word!) Zoe then volunteered at the barn until noon helping with bathing(see video in comments) , mucking, sweeping, etc. 16 yr old Genavive came to the barn at 8AM as an experienced volunteer and made quick work of measuring the feed into morning breakfast buckets, organizing and cleaning the feed room, mucking and hosing down Prize(see posted video) . She was joined by Katherine of Little Rock. She is a young married mom who has also donated her horse Dudley to our program while her husband is in medical school. She brings baby Watson in a frontpack and helps with cleaning and filling water buckets, feeding, mucking and helping groom and keep Dudley's training up to date. See more pics in the comments.
