A story that still gives us chills 💛
This January a family who had purchased Vannie from us years ago called with heavy news — their beloved Vannie had passed. Vannie is Lomasi’s mom, and by some beautiful timing, Lomasi had just welcomed a litter that very day.
We were so grateful we could squeeze them in so they could bring a piece of that line home with them.
Today we get to share this proud moment: their new girl Angel, Lomasi X Rugar puppy at just eight months old, flushing and retrieving these birds like she was born for it.
Watching these generations continue and seeing the next chapter thrive in their forever home is why we do what we do.

Large breed puppies like Labs have growth plates that stay open and vulnerable for a long time (often until 12–18 months or longer). The right kind of activity today helps build strong, sound dogs for tomorrow.
Key tips:
✅ Free play, exploring, swimming, and natural movement = great
❌ Forced running, long-distance jogging, repetitive jumping, or excessive retrieving = too much impact
This is especially important for retrievers who love to push through and won’t stop when they’re tired.

🌧️ ALL THIS RAIN HAS US THINKING ABOUT GIARDIA & COCCIDIA 🐾
With all the recent rain, puddles, and muddy conditions, it’s the perfect time to give our fellow dog owners a friendly reminder about two common intestinal parasites: Giardia and Coccidia.
These little organisms love wet environments and are easily spread through contaminated water, standing puddles, and infected f***s. Some dogs show clear signs, while others may have very few (or no) symptoms at all.
Things to watch for:
• Diarrhea
• Soft stools
• Mucus in stool
• Weight loss
• Decreased appetite
• Dehydration
The good news? A few simple habits can make a big difference in protecting your pups:
🐾 Pick up f***s promptly
🐾 Keep water bowls clean and fresh
🐾 Avoid letting them drink from puddles or stagnant water
🐾 Limit access to standing water when possible
🐾 Wash those muddy paws after outdoor adventures
Not every case of diarrhea is Giardia or Coccidia — but after heavy rain, they’re definitely worth keeping on your radar.
