Happy Vet Tech Week to all of our rockstar techs and assistants! ⭐️
They bring so much heart, skill, and patience to everything they do.
From our small animal crew to our equine team these ladies are always working hard and putting patient care at the front of everything they do.
We love you guys!! ❤️

National Vet Tech Week takes place every October to celebrate these hardworking superheroes of animal hospitals and clinics.

🩺What does a Vet Tech do?
Think of a vet tech as an animal nurse, lab scientist, dental hygienist, and X-ray technician all rolled into one person.
While the veterinarian (the doctor) diagnoses diseases and performs surgeries, veterinary technicians handle things like blood draws, running medical equipment, monitoring anesthesia, and restraining and caring for patients to keep them healthy and safe.

🫶Why do we celebrate them?
Being a vet tech is one of the hardest jobs in animal healthcare. It requires years of training, passing a national board exam to become a licensed tech, and tons of hard work. Techs often deal with long hours, heavy lifting, messy situations, and stressed pets, yet they show up every day with patience and love for their patients. ❤️

🚨🐾 BREAKING NEWS: AVS HAS A NEW RECEPTIONIST! 🚨🐾

We’ve been a bit short-handed, so we decided to promote from within... and we think we found the perfect fit! 🏆

Current Duties:
-Trying to figure out why the "treat" button isn't on the keyboard. ⌨️
-Intently staring at the schedule to find any appointments with "free cuddles." 🐶
-Managing the front desk with absolute, 100% focused ear and nose power. 👂

We may have to work on her "do not eat the paperwork" policy, but honestly, with customer service this cute, who can complain?

We’re not 100% sure if this sweet kitty was trying to show off some Olympic-level gymnastics, doing a pre-checkup stretch, or just hoping that if they keep their legs in the air, the exam will go faster! 😂

Either way, Dr. Bares and LVT Paij were absolutely loving the enthusiasm!

Happy Boss’s Day to the ultimate power couple at Associated Veterinary Services, Wendy and Dr. Newman! 🐴✨

Honestly, "the man (+woman), the myth, the legend" doesn't even begin to cover it. Between Dr. Newman’s unwavering patient care and Wendy keeping the entire clinic running without missing a beat, we truly don’t know how they do it all. They are the backbone of AVS, and we all look up to them more than they know 🫶

Wendy and Dr. Newman, thank you for leading us with so much heart, dedication, and patience (especially when things get chaotic around here!). We are so lucky to work for and alongside you both every day ❤️

Our Equine Tech, Julia, made a new friend on a recent outcall, and we’re all a little obsessed. I mean... look at those incredible ears!

We’re pretty sure he can pick up satellite radio and hear a treat bag opening three counties over. 📡👂❤️

Last night some of the AVS team had a great night doing an escape room in the arena at the stable! We had 2 groups and we had to find the deed of the miners gold! So fun and great team work!! Thank you Marie & Shane & Adison Powell👏👏 We would highly recommend them! They have 3 portable escape rooms, so they come to you🫶🫶
