We know it may not exactly feel like fall outside yet…but September 1st means we're officially allowed to start talking about it, right?! 😂

Cooler mornings, changing leaves, football Saturdays and finally being able to spend more time outside without feeling like you AND your dog are melting…there's just something about fall with a pup.

Tuesday Tales...we want to hear from you!
What is your dog’s most unnecessary daily routine? 😂

You know the one. The thing they do EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. for absolutely no reason…other than apparently it’s very important dog business.

We’ll kick it off with a few of our favorite quirks from our own pets:

🐾 Spinning three times before they can possibly lie down
🛍️ Inspecting every single grocery bag that enters the house
🚽 Escorting us to the bathroom because obviously we cannot be trusted alone
🪟 Performing neighborhood surveillance from the same window every morning
🛏️ Spending five minutes rearranging the blankets before finally getting comfortable

Every dog has their thing. 😂

You know…that little sticker that lets everyone know EXACTLY what they're getting themselves into.

Maybe yours would say:
⚠️ WARNING: Will bark at absolutely nothing.
⚠️ CAUTION: Personal space does not exist.
⚠️ WARNING: Unattended snacks WILL disappear.
⚠️ CAUTION: May experience spontaneous zoomies without notice.
⚠️ WARNING: Believes every visitor came specifically to see them.
⚠️ CAUTION: Has never been fed. Not even once. Please ignore owner.

Why have a full agility course if we don’t offer agility training? 👀🐾

Because training doesn’t have to look the same every day.

We use our agility equipment to:
🐾 Build confidence and body awareness
🐾 Keep dogs engaged and challenged
🐾 Strengthen focus and handler communication
🐾 Prevent training from becoming repetitive

And if you watch closely, you’ll see this girl checking back in with her handler as she works across the platform. That’s exactly what we want...thinking, watching, and waiting for the next cue.

Then comes the best part… a toy reward! 🎾

Training should challenge your dog, but it should also be fun, engaging, and rewarding. 🐶❤️

Sometimes, play is learning.

What looks like a simple game of fetch can actually be so much more.

During one game, we can practice:
🐾 Recall — come when called
🐾 Drop it — release the toy on cue
🐾 Leave it — resist the temptation
🐾 Impulse control — wait for the go-ahead
🐾 Focus — stay engaged with their handler
🐾 And, of course, having fun while doing it!

We work play into training because dogs learn best when they’re engaged, motivated, and enjoying themselves. Training doesn’t always have to look like sitting perfectly in place...sometimes the best lessons happen in the middle of a game.

Because a well-trained dog should still get to be a dog. ❤️

Let's pretend your dog is in charge for the day.
What would be the #1 rule in your house? 🐶

Here are a few we think might make the list from our dogs...
🐾 Every meal must include a "quality control" taste test.
🐾 All visitors are required to stop and say hello before entering.
🐾 Tennis balls belong in every room.
🐾 Squirrels are public enemy number one.
🐾 If I'm lying on your spot, congratulations... it's my spot now.

Apparently, "must be willing to participate in sprinkler zoomies" was hidden somewhere in the job description... 😂💦

When the temperatures climb, we make sure our boarding and training pups still get plenty of safe outdoor playtime...and sometimes our staff gets recruited into the fun, too! From games of fetch to cooling off in the sprinklers, we're making the most of summer one splash at a time. 🐾
