Friday at 5:30, and your dog won't stop chewing at a hot spot. You don't own a cone, and the vet's closed for the weekend. Sound familiar?

That's exactly why we've started the Goodbye at Home Community Pet Closet: borrow what you need for a one-time situation instead of buying it. Cat slipped outside and won't come near you? Grab a live trap. Dog needs a cone for a few days? We've got you.

Starting next week we're stocking e-collars (the "cone of shame"), live traps, carriers, and slip leads, with more on the way. We're also accepting donations of dog coats and halloween costumes!

This is about a week's worth of engraved plaques that didn't meet my standard. Sometimes it's a scratch, sometimes a spacing issue, sometimes something only I would notice, but any of it is enough for me to start over. Your pet's urn is part of your memories of them. Small imperfections matter to me, even when they might not to anyone else.

Zuko the bearded dragon is getting ready for his final journey, all the way to his person in Australia. He's not a cat or a dog, and that doesn't change a thing about how carefully he's cared for here. Shipping cremated remains internationally has to go through USPS Priority Mail Express, in required packaging, and I make sure every detail of that process is handled correctly. His paw print was taken with gentleness and care, and his urn is personalized, ready to travel home to the person who loved him.

Wherever you are, we'll get them home to you.

Good question! My credentials mean I didn't just decide to do this work, I trained for it. CHPA comes from the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC), a respected international credentialing body. It certifies me in non-medical end-of-life comfort care for pets, and in supporting the family they leave behind. My Certified Pet Crematory Operator credential is a collaboration between CANA (which also trains human cremation professionals) and IAOPCC, the International Association of Pet Cemeteries and Crematories which has been a respected credentialing body since 1971. I'm also a member in good standing with IAOPCC, which is really important as it sets higher standards than state minimums and makes sure everyone everywhere understands the best way to do this work.

My combination of expertise and education in both hospice and cremation is very rare, and none of it was required of me. I pursued it because your pets deserve someone who takes this seriously.

Every brass plaque is engraved right here, by me personally, using a dedicated engraving machine. I use engraving rather than adhesive lettering because it holds up better over time and won't peel or fade.
