Barley Downs Our Farm specializes in Gypsy Vanners horses, specifically that have or will excel in dressage. We offer stallion services and offspring for sale.

Barley Downs is a Gypsy Cob/Gypsy Vanner horse farm located in southern Michigan. We specialize in breeding Gypsy Vanners/Gypsy Cobs that are competitive and can do dressage. We currently stand a breathtaking homozygous black & white tobiano Gypsy stallion who is dual registered with GVHS & GHRA. Horse Feathers Rhumba currently stands at 15.3hh and is rated by the GVHS. This height is hard to find

in a Gypsy on top of his beauty, exceptional movement and incredible temperament. Above all of this he was USDF National Champion Gypsy his first year showing after only being under saddle for a few months. Because of his success and our desire to see more of his kind in the dressage ring we started our small and very select breeding program. We have a few hand selected mares that he is bred to as well as another up and coming Jr. stallion who is amazing in his own right (WHR Hugh Hefner). We are here to help you find the Gypsy of your dreams whether it be one of our horses, through breeding your Gypsy to one of our fabulous stallions or using our expertise to help you look outside of our farm and find your dream. Loves hacks/Trails, can ride bareback/halter, Dressage (schooling 2nd). Super safe, walks over and wears tarps, does cavalettis, truly an "up for whatever kind of guy". Incredible conformation which will allow you to take him up the levels or take him whatever way you choose. He is very versatile. Loads, clips, blankets and loves to be fussed over. Exciting opportunity!

2010 Gypsy gelding, trained through 2nd level dressage. Has jumped and been worked western also in his past life. He has literally done it all and done exceptionally well! Buzzie has 3 amazing gates, his canter just lifts and all 3 gates are very easy to sit. He is forward and sensitive with very light contact needed (ridden in a 3 piece loose ring snaffle). Not heavy or clunky at all! He is 15.3+ hh tall, up to date on everything, no maintenance and no shoes needed! Has also been shown. With gates, heart and trainability he could easily get to FEI if someone wanted.

Outstanding opportunity to own a professionally trained dressage Gypsy gelding that you can learn with or take right to the show ring! Feathered Gold Hemi is being offered for sale due to life changes. You couldn't ask for a better put together boy with a heart of gold and can-do personality. Henley (his barn name) was born May 2013, he currently stands 14.2-14.3hh and has been in professional dressage training for almost 2 years. He has a rock solid foundation and is schooling 2nd level. He knows his shoulder-in and haunches-in, leg yield and counter canter. He is a smooth comfy couch to sit on that makes his 5'8" rider look small. Feather that covers his hooves and bone is not lacking plus 1.5 blue eyes! Dual registered with GVHS and GHRA. Current on all vaccines as of March 2019. His tack will also be available if interested. Henley loves to hack and has no issues around tractors, ATVs, dogs/cats etc. He is a well rounded boy that is hardy and low maintenance. Very forward and stable in the connection, he knows his job and is easily through under saddle. An uphill Gypsy like this with training is next to impossible to find for sale.
