Leash pulling is not often “just leash pulling.”
For this dog, pulling on leash was one piece of a bigger picture — not following commands, resource guarding, showing signs of aggression when putting on a harness, reactivity, and struggles with handling.
In this session, we spent about 10 minutes working on clarity and teaching what leash pressure means. I also switched her from a harness to a slip leash so the communication was clearer and more consistent.
Teaching a dog how to walk properly on leash won’t automatically fix every other behavior, but leash communication is a great starting point for building clarity, structure, and a better relationship.
By the end, her owner was able to walk her on a loose leash with more control and confidence! Next, we can continue working on the other behavioral concerns 🐾
