Amelia has been at DDF for 315 days already. Help
us find her a forever home 🖤

Amelia has been doing amazing in foster. She is a quick learner and does great with obedience and structure. She would thrive in a home with a single owner, but she would consider living with a couple if it’s the right fit for her 😇

Amelia looooves tennis balls, pup cups, and french fries 🍟 She is definitely food motivated, but she can be bribed with toys too.

As you can see in the first photo, Amelia does great with dogs her size or larger. In fact, she would be so excited if she had an older dog sibling in her new home!!

Amelia is down for any adventure, but her favorites are hiking or swimming 🌊

Another amazing adoption for the sweetest girl who waited so patiently for her perfect family 💛

💛 Every event matters. 💛

It’s important for a rescue to host larger fundraising events that help offset the ever-growing costs of veterinary care and daily expenses. But the smaller community events are just as important!

Earlier this week, we attended a smaller event and, guess what? Stubby found his forever home! 🐾🏡

While large fundraisers help keep our doors open, these smaller events give our dogs the opportunity to meet potential adopters face-to-face, make connections, and sometimes find the families they’ve been waiting for.

You can’t put a price on moments like that.

Thank you to everyone who comes out to support us—whether it’s a major fundraiser, a small community event, or simply sharing our dogs’ stories. Every bit of support helps change lives 💛

☀️This post is strictly for training purposes - this puppy is NOT available for adoption! Important information for those raising puppies and/or have more of a nervous dog at home!

Last night we worked on thresholds and confidence building with Cohen!

When introduced to new environments, Cohen can be a little unsure at first—and that is completely normal for a young puppy. The goal isn’t to let him stay stuck in that nervous mindset, but rather to help him work through it at his own pace and build positive associations.

Using his favorite reward (chicken, of course 🤣) mixed in with his dinner, we gradually encouraged him to move closer and closer to the horses while keeping the experience fun and rewarding. By the end of the lesson, he was so curious that he was trying to climb right into the riding ring with them!

Confidence is built through positive experiences and small victories. By allowing puppies to explore new things at a pace they are comfortable with and rewarding brave choices, we help expand their world rather than allowing fear and anxiety to limit it. We are so proud of Cohen and can’t wait to watch him continue to grow into a confident, well-rounded dog! 💛
