Meadow Mountain Feists We created this page to share our love of squirrel hunting with our feist dogs. We got our start in dogs with coonhounds around 2013 (which we still enjoy).

If you are interested in squirrel hunting with dogs, we suggest you check out the Feist Breed Associations, UKC Cur/Feist program, and the World Tree Dog Associaition We are located in Garrett County, MD on Meadow Mountain and hunt Mountain Feists on squirrel, hence the name "Meadow Mountain Feists". We enjoy pleasure hunting with our dogs as well as traveling for competition hunts. One of our loc

al hound clubs started holding squirrel events where we spectated on a cast and realized we needed a squirrel dog too! Our dogs are registered through NKC, UKC and WTDA. We primarily participate in WTDA and UKC events and are members of the Mountain Feist Association.

Joker and Dixie took their first ride in the new box this weekend. They helped me teach an intro to small game hunting class for the Becoming An Outdoorswoman weekend on Sunday. They were able to show my class a couple squirrels. I think the class had a good time and hopefully learned a few things!

Always a great time at the VA State UKC hunt! The squirrels sure were moving today! Joker won his morning cast treeing 5 squirrels and finishing with 400+ to advance to the final round. He treed 3 more squirrels in the final round and finished with 200+ but made a mistake early on that ultimately ended up costing him the overall hunt on a tie breaker. I think throughout the day we saw around 15 squirrels total! Dixie was able to pick up a grand champion win on the bench too!
