UPDATE ON SHADOW ๐พโค๏ธ
We have been absolutely overwhelmed by the amount of interest in this sweet boy! Shadow is currently pending with one of our previous/current Bear Feet families, and we truly feel this could be the perfect fit for him. ๐ฅน
We should know for sure by this weekend. For now, Iโm going to pause taking any additional inquiries while we give this family the opportunity to meet him.
Thank you SO much to everyone who has reached out, shared his post, and offered this boy a home. It means more than you know.
๐พ Meet Shadow ๐พ
One of the promises I make to every Bear Feet Dachshunds family is that if life ever changes and they can no longer keep one of our dogs, that dog will always have a place back with us. No judgment, no questions about whether theyโre still โour responsibility.โ Once a Bear Feet baby, always a Bear Feet baby. โค๏ธ
For the first time, weโve had the opportunity to honor that promise.
Shadow is about a year and a half old (1/17/25) and is now back with us while we look for the home that will hopefully be his forever. Iโm genuinely grateful that his family reached out to me when they realized they could no longer keep him. Rehoming a dog can be an incredibly difficult decision, and I would much rather one of my families come to me knowing their dog will be safe, loved, and carefully placed.
And Shadow really is such a sweet boy. ๐ฅน
๐พ He loves children, especially younger kids
๐พ He is okay with cats
๐พ He is good with other dogs and has done amazingly well with our pack
๐พ We feel his ideal home would be one where he gets lots of individual attention - either as the only dog or with 1-3 other dogs
๐พ His recall could definitely use some work, so his new family will need to be willing to continue training with him
Right now, weโre simply getting to know him again and giving him plenty of love while we find the right home - not just the first available one.
