🐾 Pets of the Week: Meet Cooper & Jasmine, a sweet senior girl 🐾
Shelter Friends will pay half of their adoption fees.
🧡 Copper's Story
Cooper is an extremely intelligent border collie mix. He is a tall and handsome 56 pounds, and is about 3 and a half years old. He is very treat motivated and has decent recall. He knows his name very well and knows sit and lay down, but prefers to be on the move. He can be a little shy with new people, and trusts quickly. He loves to explore and is learning that going on adventures is awesome! He is pretty easy to walk on leash. He previously lived with other dogs, cats and livestock and was said he did good with everyone. We would recommend older, respectful kids due to his initial shy nature. Cooper is a very sweet boy who just wants somebody to love him, could that be you?
He's fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. He is $185 to bring home, but mention this ad and Shelter Friends will pay half that fee.
🧡 Meet Jasmine
My name is Jasmine or Jazzy and I am a fixed 13 year old female! I was brought into the shelter through no fault of my own, and I'm searching for a loving comfortable home to enjoy my golden years. I have spent all my life as an indoor kitty and that's what I prefer. I am litter box trained, and I am great with kids! I prefer quieter and calmer environments, with lots of love and soft blankets to sleep on. I have had a little bump on my face for quite a few years now, and it hasn't impacted my life at all. Vet staff believes it's no cause for concern, and I don't seem to care about my beauty mark one bit! As a senior, I have slowed down somewhat and don't keep up with my grooming as much, but my favorite thing in this world is being brushed. I will love you forever if you brush me!!!! I'm such a sweet girl, really a staff favorite, and I can't wait to find my forever home.
She is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. She is $47.50 to bring home, but mention this ad and Shelter Friends will pay half of that fee.

They are available at the Josephine County Animal Shelter.

🐾 Pets of the Week: Meet Flint & Misty 🐾
Shelter Friends will pay half of their adoption fees.
🧡 Flint's Story
Flint is a handsome fella at ~4 year old and ~90 lbs! He's a big guy with a big heart and loves to jump into your lap for love! Adventures (walks, hikes, etc) are super fun to him and would love someone just as adventurous as him! He's met other dogs and has done well with respectful dogs, but is appropriately corrective towards dogs with no manners. He lived with cats for a few months and was reported to be friendly and playful with them! We are unsure of his history with kids, but his previous owner stated he has such a sweet temperament that he believes he would do well with them. He's a loving, goofy, and attentive boy and he's looking for his new best friend, could that be you?
He is fixed, vaccinated. microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. He is $185 to bring home, but mention this ad and Shelter Friends will pay half that fee.
🧡 Meet Misty
Misty, here! I'm just a young girl around 1.5 years old looking for a new home. I am loving and affectionate, and assertive and confident. I am girl with a big personality! Aren't my unique markings beautiful?
My history is a bit of a mystery as I was left on someone's porch in a box. They don't know where I came from and I'm ready to start over fresh!
I'm fixed, vaccinated, microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. I am $95 to bring home, but mention this ad and Shelter Friends will pay half of that fee.

Thank you to everyone who voted in support of the Animal Control and Animal Shelter levy. Because of this community’s kindness and belief in protecting vulnerable animals, the levy has unofficially passed.
This means continued care, safety, shelter, and second chances for so many animals who have nowhere else to turn. It means support for the people working tirelessly behind the scenes every single day to protect and care for them.
To every person who shared information, volunteered, advocated, donated, and voted, thank you for standing with the animals and for believing they matter.
Josephine County, your voices made a difference!
Sincerely,
Shelter Friends 🧡

🐾 Pets of the Week: Meet Ruby & Bandit 🐾
Shelter Friends will pay half of their adoption fees.
🧡 Ruby's Story
Ruby is a gem in a world full of rocks. She's a very affectionate and smart girl at ~6 years old and ~80lbs (but she could lose a few lbs). She is a professional ball catcher and an extraordinary kiddie pool diver. Ruby loves to be doted on and told how good of a girl she is while leaning into your leg for rear-end scratches. She has the cutest face with one ear up and one ear down that is sure to bring a smile to your face. Being a matured lady, she is well-rounded; great on leash, good with other dogs, social with people, as well as treat and toy motivated. We are unsure of how she is with kids or cats. Due to her sweet and gentle demeanor, we hope that she would do well with proper introductions! She's a smart cookie who knows sit and lay down, but she could probably learn a few more tricks easily! If you're looking for a dog who is smart, motivated, full of life but also knows when it's time to settle down, Ruby could be the one for you!
She is fixed, vaccinated. microchipped and up to date on parasite preventatives. She is $185 to bring home, but mention this ad and Shelter Friends will pay half that fee.
🧡 Meet Bandit
My name is Bandit and I am an ~11 month old fixed male! I have lived as an indoor/outdoor kitty and I love to explore. I have lived with other cats before, but didn't like sharing the spotlight too much. I would do best as a solo cat. I have never lived with dogs before. I have done well with older kids, but have no experience with younger kids. I love playing with toys and getting head scratches! I'm very sweet, and love as much attention as you will give me! I love to flop over for pets. I may not grow too much more, but I'm still under a year old so I could end up being a pretty big guy! I can't wait to find a loving home to call my own. Come meet me at the shelter today and see what makes me so special!

Stray cats are not “less than.”
They are lives trying to survive in a world that has not always been kind to them.
Every scar tells a story, every cautious step comes from hardship, and every purr is proof that kindness still matters.
They are not problems to ignore. They are souls searching for safety, warmth, and compassion. They need us to be their voices.
