We are located in Grants Pass, OR and shelter animals from many backgrounds & have many dogs and cats waiting for adoption! Our mission is to protect and promote the welfare and safety of pets and people in our community. We provide professional and compassionate care to stray animals, surrendered pets, and animal from legal cases. We aim to reunite lost pets with their owners and always have animals looking for new families through adoption.

It is a new month, and that means we get to celebrate our Volunteer of the Month for August, Kevin.

Kevin started volunteering with us this summer to keep himself busy the summer before his Senior Year of high school. Even after getting not one, but two jobs he was still a consistent presence at the Shelter, and when we saw him our entire team would have a huge sigh of relief because he was such a rock star. He learned many of our needs and would get right to work. Even on some of the hottest days he would be here washing out pet carriers or folding laundry. It was always special when he would show up and we could make sure that he had a chance to play with puppies, because who doesn't love puppy snuggles? He was a regular dog walker, and Snoopy (pictured here) gave him a run for his money, but he handled it like a champ.

As he begins his final year in high school everyone at the shelter is going to miss his regular presence but we are also looking forward to seeing where this young man goes in life.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Kevin, you are a rock star!
