Hello everybody! I have a client who needs to rehome their sweet pup.
Meet Mars!
Labradoodle (Standard Poodle x British Golden Retriever, both parents AKC registered)
My parents have to move out of state for Dad’s job and they know I won’t be happy closed up in a city home, so I’m looking for a new family! I am a 15 month old goofball with a huge heart. I want to please and am very affectionate. I want to be a lap dog. I want to be everyone’s best friend.
I am almost 60 lbs and very healthy and athletic. I am fully house-trained, neutered, chipped, and vaccinated. I crate for nighttime sleeping, but am still learning to crate during the day.
I have been trained to sit and wait a few feet away from my bowl when it’s feeding time, until I am invited to eat, and will do this without a command. I’ve also had food, treats, and toys taken from me consistently by all members of the family (two adults and one teenager.) I show no possessive or territorial behavior with humans. At home, I do not get up on furniture (bed, couch, etc) unless invited.
I am extremely affectionate and want to be with my people all the time. I love to play with young people and other dogs. My favorite game is fetch. I have a deep desire to please, and learn quickly. But, I am a very high energy dog. I need a lot of exercise (daily 45-60 minute brisk walk, or 30-40 minutes running play.) So, I need a home with a lot of space to run around outside, or a very active family.
Because of the changes in my parent’s lives, my training stopped about six months ago, so I do need work, especially around self-regulation when I am excited. However, I am very food motivated and very smart, and will catch up quickly with anyone who is ready to work with me.
I love to be around other dogs. I have not been socialized with cats or other animals.
