Poppy has officially earned the title of "Most Mischievous Pup of the Week!" 🐶🌽

After she and her brother decided the garbage was a buffet, Poppy ate corn cobs—a common foreign body that can become lodged in the intestines and require emergency surgery. 🏥

Thankfully, Poppy's mom noticed something was missing and brought her to Bayside Animal Hospital right away. We monitored Poppy closely with serial imaging, hoping the corn cob would pass safely on its own. The next day, when it became clear that it wasn't going to move, our team performed foreign body removal surgery then.

We're so happy to report that Poppy is recovering beautifully and is on the road to feeling like herself again!
An extra silver lining? Poppy was insured through Trupanion, and thanks to Trupanion Direct Pay, the majority of her treatment costs were paid directly to our hospital. That meant her family didn't have to pay the full cost upfront while focusing on what mattered most—getting Poppy the care she needed. 💙
