I have been into Equestrian matters for over 20 years, my background is in Dressage, Ranch Riding and Liberty. My influencers are Luke Gingerich and Warrick Schiller, well established and highly talented horsemen. I do what I do for my horses sake, always looking to relationship building, unity and willingness instead of force. I follow behavior chain formulas used in operant conditioning and I am for positive reinforcement as well as using correction.

The 3 Cs: connection, communication, and condition.

These are the three areas of improvement in training that equal balanced progress.

Aurora has been lightly saddle started, she trusts me and has a balanced nervous system (connection), she understands the information I am telling her (communication), but she is not strong in muscle memory or automatic response. So we are working on repetition (conditioning) today.

There are times I feel that God aligns the stars and lights my next step, and this was one of those times: Welcome to Peeka, a 3 year old paint filly. She is going to help me as the subject in my educational courses: Essential Groundwork and starting your own horse under saddle.  She may eventually be helping with the Liberty and Bridleless courses as well, welcome to the team!

Happy Birthday to my dearest Perrin! My lovebug, goober, bigfoot boy!! I think was meant to be a lapdog labrador but came out as a horse. He follows me around like a puppy, he is the most dog-like horse you've ever met and has always been a ham. I purchased him from Dirk A ten Haaf as a weanling. He is learning so much this year and i can't wait to share more about this guy's progress... Happy 5th Birthday!!

Having a relationship at liberty gives us so many tools to use. I frequently work with both of my horses at once, riding one and working with the other. It is a seamless transition to working on the trail ❤️
