It’s not a glamorous calling, but the problem won’t go away if we ignore it, it will just continue to grow bigger!
As some may know I work closely with Harbor humane and their RTF program.
Its something I feel called to do to help our community of people and animals to live and thrive well together and with that there needs to be balance.
I Secured this Momma and kitten yesterday, thankfully within hours of eachother and before the storms hit last night.
Sadly though there were two kittens and I couldn’t get the other to come into any of the 4 traps we had set up.
Found in the road this morning, was struck by a car.
I will hold the memory dear of watching that little kitten frolic in the field just days before with the hope of a better future for its mother and brother.
I must admit it broke me a little throughout the day today… and I’m pretty tuff about this stuff.
However I do believe that everything leads to our higher understanding and there are always lessons along the way, And some dang crazy stories too!
For now these two will be spayed and vaccinated then Momma will be returning to field and kit will go to a new cat community at a farm with a barn and will be cared for while also living wild, free, and in balance.
I have successfully trapped two females and three kittens this week.
And if each female can have up to 6 litters a year!!😳
This will definitely make a difference in the health and survival of these cats and other wildlife that depend on hunting prey for food.
