Our 2026 Carbon 66% het VPI girl has been pretty timid, so we’ve been giving her some extra time to settle in. Lately, she’s been showing more curiosity, so I decided to try a handling session with her. To my surprise, she was much more comfortable than expected!

We’re hoping to get some better photos of her soon so we can share more of her with you all.

In 2023, our GHI Mystic was afraid of everything and his first instinct was to curl up into a little ball whenever something was different or he was being handled. Fast forward to today, and he’s much more confident and comfortable showing himself off and hanging out with us.

Boa Breeder Check-In 💚

Our Ghost Het Kahl × Anery Het Kahl pairing has confirmed locks! We’re hoping for Moonglows from this pairing and are excited to see how things progress. They were separated on Friday for a break, a meal, and some time to digest.

Other Pairing Updates:

Our IMG Het Anery × Motley Het Kahl pairing is also taking a break at this time.

We have two more pairings planned for introduction over the next few weeks:

▪️IMG Het Anery × Jungle

▫️Jungle Monstertail Het Leopard × Hypo Amber IMG Pos Het Anery

🔸️Tail Tuesday | Sharp Albino🔸️

Sharp Albino is a morph in boa constrictors known for vibrant orange and yellow markings against a white or creamy background. This recessive mutation results in an absence of melanin, allowing these bright colors and patterns to stand out.

Our 2023 female showcases the beautiful coloration that makes the Sharp Albino morph so striking!

Proof that nature loves variety! These two girls came from the exact same litter, but looking at them, you’d almost think they belonged to completely different pairings. 🧡🖤

Six years of growth can make quite a difference!

Our 0.1 2020 IMG het Anery has certainly changed a lot since she was a baby! 🖤The IMG (Increasing Melanin Gene) influences dark pigmentation, which can become more pronounced as boas mature. It's fascinating to see how her appearance has developed over the years.

Products we use to set up our baby ball python tubs: 🐍

We use ReptiChip for substrate, small Pangea hides, and 8 oz deli cups for water that fit flush in our FB10 tubs. For hatchlings and shyer babies, we also add foliage for extra cover.

A few things to keep in mind:

🥥 Substrate should be damp, not wet. If it dries out, remove the animal before rehydrating and mixing the substrate. If it's too wet during prep, mix in dry substrate. Replace it when needed.

🌿 Sanitize foliage before use. Avoid wires, glitter, powder, and potentially hazardous vines. Don't overcrowd the tub.

📏 Choose a tub that allows your ball python to move comfortably, stretch out, access secure hiding spots, and maintain a proper temperature gradient.

Taking the spotlight today for Tail Tuesday is our 2023 1.0 Hypo Het Kahl.

The Hypo gene reduces dark pigmentation, giving boas a cleaner, brighter appearance with less black pigment and enhanced contrast between their colors and patterns.

We love seeing how the Hypo gene influences a boa’s overall appearance, and this male has some beautiful coloration worth showing off!
