Rescue needed

OWNER SURRENDER

Behavior: very sweet and friendly despite her condition.

Owner provided medical records from 2020 where pet was taken to the dermatology clinic, was tested for allergies and owner was given allergy injections (they did not keep up with rechecks/injections like they were supposed to). Additional records were from 2021-2022 where owner sporatically bought shampoos.

Immediately gave pet a Nexgard PO. Will consult with DVM onsite prior to starting on any medications. 1506 is also aware of pet and is attempting to find a rescue. Medical records will be attached to this record.

The following is a list of things pet is allergic to (according to the ADC):

Grasses: Johnson, Bermuda, Rye, June, Orchard, Timothy, Bahia, Quack
Weeds: Ragweed, Cockleburr, Marshelder, Careless, Sage, Kochia, Russian Thistle, Yellow Dock, Lamb's Quarter, English Plantain
Trees: Mountain Cedar, Elm, Mesquite, Oak, Box Elder, Yellow Pine
Others: Malassezia, Feathers, Staph, Flea, House Dust Mite

Behavior:
Dog is very affectionate and sweet.

ESTIMATED PURINA BODY CONDITION SCORE (1-9):1-2, very skinny skinny, visible ribs and spine, thin abdominal area, she is lactating

GENERAL APPEARANCE:possible broken front left leg

BEHAVIOR:good, a bit head shy but very gentle, possibly dog aggressive

SKIN:good, dirty

EARS:clean, but unable to fully examine

EYES:good

NOSE:good

TEETH:tartar, unable to fully examine
unable to heartworm test due to broken leg

VET STATEMENT NOTES:
MEDICAL ISSUES:
Obvious swelling and limp noted on the LEFT FRONT leg. Suspect a fracture. Will start on oral pain meds and plan to take xrays during sedation for OHE, currently scheduled for 6/24/25.

RX: Rimadyl 100mg - 1 tab PO SID for 5 days
RX: Gabapentin 300mg - 1 cap PO BID for 5 days

She is the cutest Dalmation wanna-be!

She is growing more barrier reactive, and this is keeping her from being cohoused as she and her other kennel mate were both barrier reactive, and it caused a scuffle.

Behavior:very sweet seeks attention snuggly, AMAZING with other dogs loves to play or just coexist

Behavior:very sweet seeks attention snuggly

Pet was HBC on 5/14/25, taken to an ER clinic on 5/16. Owner declined diagnostics and treatment. Pet was given an injection on Methadone. According to the records from the ER the owners had given Tylenol or Aspririn PO before taking pet to the ER. Pet has an obvious limp on both the right front leg and the right rear leg. Removed the make shift bandage and the front leg appears to be fractured. Gave 1.5 tablets of 75mg Rimadyl PO. According to the owner, pet has not been on any medications, they have only applied Neosporin to the wound on the front leg. The plan will be to sedate pet and take rads and determine a course of treatment, whether that be surgery or EU. 1508cda

CC: Hit by car on 5/14.
EXAM: QAR. Sedated with 2.1mls TKD IM.
Reluctant to walk but ambulatory x 3 legs; Non-weight bearing on right front limb. Does not appear to place full weight on hind limbs,
Approximately 5 x 3 inch open wound spanning medial aspect of distal humerus to mid-antebrachium. Healthy granulation tissue present in wound bed.
Radiographs:
VD lateral and pelvis including entire limb: No abnormalities noted
Right frot limb: Transverse fracture of right distal ulnar/radius
Assessment: Right radial/ulnar fracture, Open wound on right front limb, healing. Pain in hind limbs secondary to soft tissue/muslce injury

Plan:
Carprofen 100 mg: 1 tab PO SID x 6 days
Gabapentin 300 mg: 1 cap PO BID x 6 days
Cephalexin 500 mg: 1 cap PO BID x 6 days

Behavior:very sweet seeks attention
No dog test due to how unstable she is in her hind legs/ no reaction seeing others in passing

Pet is toe touching on the RIGHT rear foot/leg. DO NOT SUSPECT THAT PET IS 8 YEARS OLD. Pet has no graying of the hair, no lenticular sclerosis noted, teeth are beautiful and white. SUSPECT PET TO BE 3-4 YEARS OF AGE.
There is muscle atrophy noted in the right rear leg. Will start on pain meds and plan to sedate and take xrays and spay pet on 5/20/25.

RX: Rimadyl 100mg - 1.5 tabs PO SID for 3 days

Lateral and VD xrays taken of the knees/hips. No obvious fractures. The femoral heads are flatter than normal, pet likely suffers from hip dysplasia. Ideally, she needs joint supplements and appropriate long term pain management.
