Dog Dynasty

Dog Dynasty Boarding. Daycare. And a whole lot of heart.
👇 This is where the story lives:

Started with nothing but a pair of clippers, a big dream, and a kid to raise.
10+ years later, I’m still showing up—for the pets, the people, and the purpose.

I love dogs because they don’t care if it’s Monday.

Life is just a party when you’re a pooch who gets to go to daycare. 🎉

And honestly? Mondays around here are kind of the best.

We build real relationships with these dogs. We miss them when they’re gone. They miss us. And when Monday rolls around, apparently we’ve all been separated for YEARS and the reunion must be celebrated accordingly. 😂🎉❤️

The happy feet. The full-body wiggles. The absolute inability to contain themselves when they see their friends- human and canine.

Who wouldn’t want to be greeted like that on a Monday?

Socialization is important. Enrichment is important. Exercise is important.

But being somewhere your dog is genuinely excited to come back to?

That matters too. ❤️

Von turns five years old today! 🎉

At Dog Dynasty, we think birthdays are a pretty big deal and knowing how to operate a piñata is a basic life skill every dog should know 🐾

Happy Birthday Von ❤️

I have to share something pretty incredible that came out of losing Alex.

Vince from Barkley’s Hope reached out to me with an idea to create a fund in my sister’s name, specifically to help people who are ready to enter treatment but have nowhere for their pets to go.

And I don’t think people realize how often that is an actual barrier.

If someone gets a bed in treatment, they may need to go NOW. Not three weeks from now when a foster opens up. Not after they save enough money for boarding. Not after they figure out who can take their dog for a month.

Barkley’s Hope already works with people in these situations and helps coordinate resources. Vince is now working on grant funding that would put money directly on account with Dog Dynasty so that when someone needs to enter treatment, we can immediately step in and care for their pet for the first 30 days, or until another resource like Roice-Hurst is available.

Barkley’s Hope handles the people. We handle the pets. And hopefully, one less person has to say, “I can’t go because I have nowhere for my dog to go.”

I love this for about a hundred different reasons.

I love that it’s practical. I love that it fills a gap that already exists in our community. I love that Dog Dynasty gets to be part of something that is quite literally giving someone the freedom to go get help without worrying about the animal they love.

And I love that Vince wants to name it after Alex.

Those who knew Alex’s story will probably understand why that part means more to me than I can explain.

There are a million ways people could have suggested honoring my sister. Somehow Vince found one that connects her, the work I’ve spent my life doing, animals, addiction recovery, and an actual need in our community all in one place.

That’s pretty special.

Thank you, Vince. Thank you to Barkley’s Hope for thinking beyond what you’re already doing and asking, “What is still keeping people from getting help, and how can we fix it?”

And thank you for giving Alex’s name somewhere to keep doing some good in the world.

I think she would really love that. ❤️
