From Dr. Emily
As Tuesday came to a close, we were doing exactly what we love—helping a pet in need.
Today marks one year since Dr. Stewart handed me the keys to Grand Island Veterinary Hospital.
In the last 125,600 minutes, there has been blood, sweat, tears, laughter (lots of laughter), hugs, celebrations, heartbreak, hormones (let’s be honest—it’s a building full of mostly women), and all the moments that come with this profession we love so much.
Most people who know me know I’m rarely at a loss for words, but today I find myself simply in awe of the blessings God has given GIVH, my family, our staff, and our clients.
To my team: thank you. Every single one of you shows up every day and works hard to fulfill our mission and vision. I am so proud of what we’ve built together, and I hope you know how much I care about you and your families. None of this happens without you.
To our clients in Grand Island and beyond: you have shown up for us in ways I never could have imagined.
To those who stayed with us through the transition—thank you. We probably looked a little different when I arrived with my amazing group of gals, and I’m so grateful you saw the value in what we were trying to build and trusted us with your pets’ care.
To those who found me again after caring for your pets elsewhere—thank you for seeking us out and trusting my team with your beloved family members.
To those who have recently joined the GIVH family—welcome, and thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for your babies.
Buying GIVH and becoming a solo veterinarian was one of the most exciting—and terrifying—things I’ve ever done. But your support has made it one of the most rewarding experiences of my life.
Whether you’ve been with GIVH for years, just walked through our doors for the first time, or your name probably deserves to be on a plaque somewhere in the building, our goal remains the same: to provide the very best care possible for your furry family members—from the day you bring them home to the day we’re honored to sit beside you and help them cross the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you for trusting us. Thank you for supporting us. Thank you for believing in us.
Here’s to Year One—and all the adventures still to come. ❤️🐾
Our photo is missing our rockstar Lucero- but don’t think we love her any less!!
