Here's the bottom line: What has worked in the past isn't working anymore. We do features, outings, extra posts and special kennel cards...yet here they sit.
Maybe just a photo of this simple whiteboard that hangs on a wall in an office will do what the other things couldn't: Find these animals a forever home.
The date that you see next to each of these names are the dates they arrived into CNHS's care. When you look at the ages of some of these animals like Foxy and Calico Snow, you will find in simple math that they have known shelter life longer than life in a home.
Some have experienced every single holiday in these kennels. Some are going to experience them a second time.
This photo isn't much to look at. It's not a scared dog in a kennel or a happy cat with a toy but it's the reality for these animals.
We LOVE them like we love our own pets and they will sit here for as long as it takes, but this is supposed to be a temporary stopping point in their journey to finding a forever home. For animals like Nancy, Cassava, and Velvet, temporary passed a long time ago.
In all honesty, we need your help. Their forever homes are out there, we just need to get this around enough for someone to realize they are the exact home needed for one of these sweet souls. It takes a village and we have a pretty great one so we know we can do this!
