We just shed some tears on this one. Harvey is the little boy in this pic and he is the reason bullseye is the dog he will be. The love and patience he had with all the things he would teach him. How it was ok to down steps or swim in a pool. The love that this boy had for this dog knowing he would not be staying is admirable. Knowing where he is going and who will love him makes it easier. I’m already sad he’s leaving but seeing Harvey shed some tears made me cry more. I’m very proud of Harvey and he will be rewarded for being so kind, gentle, caring, patient, and loving. That’s why Bullseye is so great because he had a boy that loved him💕😭🥹 we will for sure be visiting and checking in. Ok sorry for all the emotions. We are also so thankful because not only is bullseye going to a great person they are related to the family that got Jessie. I’m so Happy for them both.

Albert Koegel began the company as a small neighborhood meat market, and four generations later, the Koegel family still owns and operates it out of Flint, still using the same natural casing recipe that gives their Vienna franks the distinctive snap Michiganders will argue about with people from other states. No private equity buyout, no corporate parent company, just a family business that decided the recipe worked and didn't need fixing.

That kind of continuity is rare in food manufacturing, where most regional brands eventually get bought up, reformulated, or shut down. Koegel's took a different path, staying independent through decades when it would have been easier to sell. You'll find their franks on grills and in coney sauce from Flint to the Upper Peninsula.
