Next to last dog swim of the year is tomorrow Sunday, Sept. 28, 12-3pm. Last week we had great weather and great turnout of 165 dogs! Weather tomorrow looks good too! See you there. Woof! 🐕🐕🐕

The last swim of the year is Oct. 5.

All swims are at Salmon Brook Park pond. The pond is a fenced area where your dog can swim, hang out on the beach, or run around and play off-leash. $10 per dog, cash or check. All funds go towards maintenance of the Granby Dog Park. NO children under 8 years and NO food or drink within the pond area.

There’s a possibility that tomorrow’s dog swim may have to be canceled due to the weather. The forecast is calling for a good chance of rain tomorrow morning, diminishing in the afternoon. If the decision is made to cancel, it will be posted here. Stay tuned. Paws crossed. Woof 🐕

No swim this Labor Day weekend, but happily the next swim is only a week away on Sunday, Sept. 7, 12-3pm.

Thanks to everyone who came to the season opening swim last weekend. We had a record turnout with over 170 dogs. Fantastic! Although it was sad not to have Linda at the gate and Shep by my side, it was tons of fun and the doggos had a blast. Woof! 🐕

Good news, there will be dog swims this year! Yay! Unfortunately, there will not be any this spring. Boo. For some reason Salmon Brook Park would not give us any weekends in May, Saturday or Sunday, for swims. Not sure why.

Anyhoo, here are the dates for 2025 dog swims:

Aug. 24, Sept. 7, 21, 28, Oct. 5
Sundays 12:00-3:00 @ Salmon Brook Park

Update: the Dog Park is open

Although the entrance to Salmon Brook Park is open, the road leading to the dog park remains closed.

From Granby Recreation - For safety reasons, Salmon Brook Park will be closed this week until Monday, 2/24, unless weather conditions improve sooner. This closing includes playgrounds, fields, and the dog park.

The dog park will be closed Sunday morning November 17 from 9-11am in order to do a final fall cleanup. If you would like to help, bring a rake, tarp, leaf blower or just yourself; it would be greatly appreciated. Woof! 🐕
