A very happy 4th birthday to Sunflower’s favorite little yellow horse, Savido d’Noble, lovingly owned by Kelly Clark! ✨

Savido (Damasco Retiro x Nuez DC) joined our program two years ago with the goal of becoming Kelly’s next dressage partner alongside her current teammate, Bonnie. Since then, he has been an absolute joy to develop and continues to show so much talent, heart, and promise as a young prospect.

We are so proud of the progress he has made already and can’t wait to watch him continue to mature and grow in the years ahead. Happy Birthday, Savido! 💛

Raptora d’Noble, “Tora,” a coming 5-year-old APSL mare owned by Laurie Nilsen, putting in some great work during her training ride on Monday. ✨

Tora is currently preparing for two big milestones — her first ever off-property outing and her very first show coming up this weekend! We started Tora under saddle this winter, and she has continued to make steady, positive progress ever since.

Our focus with her has been on encouraging more forwardness and expression within her gaits while developing a soft, confident acceptance of the contact. She continues to try so hard each ride and is developing into such a lovely young mare.

Very pleased with Miss Tora and excited to bring her out for her debut next weekend! 🤎

Meet T’Stark d’Noble, “Stark,” a coming 3-year-old APSL stud owned by Brooke Klenk. Purchased as a yearling from Casa do Noble Lusitanos Stark was selected to be Brooke’s personal horse, and we are excited for what the future holds for this special young stallion.

Bred by the late stallion Xemino and out of Nuez DC, Stark shows natural athleticism, balance, and a wonderful presence. We currently also have two of his half siblings on the dam’s side, making it especially exciting to watch these lines develop within our program.

We are looking forward to beginning Stark’s journey under saddle this year and hope to see him in the dressage arena in the future. High hopes for this handsome young horse!

Throughout each week, we will also be featuring different horses currently in our program and sharing their journeys, progress, and development along the way.

🌻Welcome to Sunflower Lusitanos, based in Granby, Connecticut. Our passion for the Lusitano breed began with the purchase of our first Lusitano stallion, imported from Brazil. From that moment on, we knew there was something truly special about these horses.

Their athleticism is matched by their intelligence, work ethic, loyalty, and kind disposition, making them exceptional partners both in and out of the arena.
