🐾 **Exciting Announcement!** 🐾

I’m incredibly excited to announce that I’ll be partnering with ** 4 PAWS 4 EVER **! ❤️

Within the next few weeks, I’ll be able to start offering **on-site lessons and group training classes** again—woot woot! 🎉🐶

For those of you who have attended one of my group lessons, you know that one of our biggest challenges has been finding the right location where we can safely and effectively work with our dogs. Thanks to this wonderful local dog rescue, we now have a space where we can help our dogs learn, grow, and succeed together!

And there’s an extra special bonus… **4 PAWS 4 EVER is a dog rescue!** 🐕❤️ While you’re there working with your pup, you just might meet your future four-legged family member!

I’m so excited about this partnership and everything it will allow us to offer our dogs and their families. Stay tuned for more details on upcoming group classes and on-site lessons! 🐾

Did you see is us yesterday? We were at the Granbury Home Depot working on distractions while practicing our basic obedience! Look how cute and happy they are. Everyone around us took photos and got to pet/play with the puppies.

These two puppies are as adorable as they come! 🐾 We just completed their first in-home training session, and they both worked incredibly hard.

Our focus today was on building engagement with their owners through clicker training and teaching each puppy to settle independently without their sibling nearby. These foundational skills are especially important for littermates, as they help each puppy develop confidence, independence, and a strong relationship with their humans.

Starting these skills early sets the stage for successful training and can help prevent many of the challenges that littermates often face as they grow. I'm looking forward to watching these two continue to learn and thrive!

Today Mr Moose and Remus worked on door manners. This is the skill of when a door way is opened or opening they are not pushing or barging their way through the door. Being respectful of each other and the handler. For some puppies this can be a really hard task. However, these two boys are really showing off that they can do anything.

Moose the German Shepherd is 7 1/2 going on 8 month old and Remus the Great Pyrenees mix who is also 7 months old featured below.

Picking the right breed for your lifestyle makes it so much easier. What’s something you learned about the breed you have now you would tell your younger self?

The best approach? None.
None at all.

I want a dog to feel safe.
Secure.
To understand, clearly, that I am no threat.

And the quickest way to do that?
Take the pressure right off.

No reaching. No leaning in and no stepping into their space.

Because the moment you move toward them, or bend down in an attempt to connect with them, you’ve already changed how it feels for them.

Dogs don’t need us to prove we’re friendly.
They need us to be non-threatening.

There’s a big difference.

And this isn’t just about them.
It’s about you too.

You may know nothing about this dog. That matters.

If you crouch down right in front of them, you’ve just put yourself in a compromised position.

Your centre of gravity is now off.
Your movement will then be slower.
Your ability to step away quickly is reduced.

If this dog reacts?
You’ve lost those crucial seconds and your face is right there directly in front of theirs.

So, try this instead

Turn your body.
Stay upright.
Give lots of space.

Let them decide if they want to come closer.

Because the clearest and best message you can send a dog is this:
I’m not here to pressure you.
