The TrueLife (TL) Team and Friends had a wonderful time in Matagorda this past weekend. We missed a few of our team who were unable to join.

We had three teams: Team Cat - with Clifford Lyle Castilaw, Mireya Castilaw (our customers and good friends) and Rylee West a TL team member. This was the fish catching machine boat. They caught the most fish and Rylee got the biggest fish.

Team Jojo - with Stephen Godfrey, Laurie Godfrey (good friends) and Jancy Page TL team member was the party and unusual catch boat. Jancy caught a toadfish - uncommon for Matagorda area. Stephen caught a clump of oysters.

Team Will - with TL team members Roy & Marie Holdridge and Jesus Garcia. Our boat was the average boat on a tough fishing day boat. Any day fishing is still better than not fishing! We caught a few redfish, 2 were keepers and survived the drenching downpour.

Roy and I are so thankful for our team and for our friends. We look forward to next year.

Whitetail season is open and so are we! 7 days a week. Also we have a new & excellent meat processing option. Quick turn around times. Ask for details. Hope you have a successful hunt!

Updated: So thankful to have some of our amazing team at the 2025 Texas Taxidermy (TTAI) Convention & Competiton this year.

Roy and I are so proud of Jesus for his excellent work on Roy’s cape buffalo. He won all of the awards that he won last year and added the TTAI People’s Choice Best of Show award. This award is voted on by taxidermists & members who attend the convention. Quite prestigious.

Aaron competed this year with a fish reproduction mount that he cast and painted. His mount won the Lifetine Award for the highest scoring fish in the professional division.

Jancy helped out at Mount Check in and then was beautifully attired for the Awards Ceremony Auction. She looked stunning. Her proud dad Jarrod came along and his help before, during and after the convention was invaluable.

Philip and his beautiful date Chelsey were there to support Jesus at the Awards Banquet. (Update to include their picture.)

Maddie and Rylee attended seminars and had fun.

And last but not least, Josh worked his first TTAI convention ever at the registration desk. Our volunteers, Board members and attendees really appreciated his excellent customer service and organizational skills. He wowed our attendees with his commanding but pleasant military style loud voice while the rowdy throng was waiting to get into the Competition Room. Our Sunday pack up was organized and efficient. Best one in a long time! ❤️

Roy and I feel so blessed and thankful to have such a great team at TrueLife Taxidermy. The only thing to change is getting a great group photo next year!!

Gone Fishing!

Our team went fishing in Matagorda this weekend with Matagorda Bay Fishing Team Captains Will & Joe. The weather cooperated on Saturday but not on Sunday! 🤣

Our Frenchie pup Maxie came too. Good outing for her.

Roy & I are so blessed to work with such a great team of people.

TrueLife Taxidermy celebrated our annual Christmas party at Miyako Japanese Restaurant on 12/19/24.

We are thankful for such a great team. They share our vision of a renewed focus on customer service along with our excellent taxidermy.

We are also thankful for our wonderful customers. We appreciate all who have been so understanding and patient with our transitions and challenges over the past couple of years. We wish you all an amazing and successful 2025.
