Missing just one dose of your pet’s flea, tick, or heartworm prevention can leave them unprotected longer than many pet owners realize.

Parasites don’t take months off — and gaps in prevention can increase your pet’s risk of:
⚠️ Flea infestations
⚠️ Tick-borne illnesses
⚠️ Heartworm disease
⚠️ Intestinal parasites

Heartworm disease, in particular, can be dangerous and expensive to treat, but it’s easily preventable with consistent monthly prevention.

Helpful reminders:
📅 Set recurring phone alerts
📅 Pair prevention with a monthly routine
📅 Refill medications before they run out

Consistency is key when it comes to protecting your pet year-round! Need a refill? Give us a call.

Did you know pets can get sunburned too? Just like humans, dogs and cats can suffer from painful sun damage — especially pets with light-colored fur, thin coats, pink skin, or exposed areas like the nose, ears, and belly.

Too much sun exposure can lead to redness, irritation, peeling skin, and even increase the risk of skin cancer over time.

Here are a few ways to help protect your pet this summer:
☀️ Limit outdoor time during peak afternoon heat
☀️ Provide shade and fresh water outdoors
☀️ Ask your veterinarian about pet-safe sunscreen
☀️ Avoid shaving double-coated breeds too short

If you notice redness, sensitivity, or skin changes, schedule an exam with your veterinarian. Summer safety starts with prevention!
